I have repeatedly picked up something at a garage sale that I end up giving away without ever using it. You would think I would learn (but everything I bought was small and really cheap!)

I bought some cool letters from oriental trading for my preschool classroom. It was an impulse buy and when it came it was taking up too much space in my room (in the box) I couldn't think of where was a good place to put it, so I stored it in a cupboard (out of sight out of mind) right?
Well I was cleaning today and found that impulse buy---never used, hubby wouldn't like it if he knew. Maybe the kids and I will use those letter stamps tomorrow HAHA

After reading one of Celia Rivenbark's books from the library, I was so smitten that I bought every book that she has ever written(hardbound!), and it was such a great decision. She makes me laugh like nobody's business, so I read these books again and again and again.

I bought a Coleman drink dispenser at a church bazaar. There were two and I got the smaller (it holds about a gallon and a half) and wish I had bought the larger one (maybe four gallons?) because I get so much use out of the little one, but it needs filling so very often.
About 10-12 years ago I bought a leather tote bag (not a purse) just because I liked it. I paid way more than I would ever normally pay for anything of the kind, but I am so glad I did! With no care other than cleaning the occasional sticky grand-baby hand print, it looks as good now--maybe softer!--as the day I bought it, and I use it constantly. Sometimes it's okay to just splurge.

a recent impulse buy i made was purchasing an adorable mod-looking over-the-door hook set for $5. the only thing? i was in another city and had to fly home the next day. fortunately i was able to fit it into a backpack without any problems and get it home safely. it was totally worth it; i'm so happy with it!!

I am very impulsive when I'm watching info mercials. I've got some things I love (my Bare Minerals makeup is amazing) and some things I've regretted (a "contour belt" that is supposed to electronically shock your abs into a six pack)
Last week I participated in a silent auction at a Celtics game, where I bid $200 on a giant framed picture of the team from the night they won the championship in 2008. I honestly did not think I would win as it was a really nice picture with game-used net. Well turns out, I was the only bid and had to carry the thing home! I do love it though, it looks great on my wall!
We bought a rainbarrel and we are glad we did. Saves us money.

I got cheap gift cards to Wal-Mart for Christmas from my relatives. I needed a new phone so I found one that was within my budget. Without even looking at the customer reviews, I bought it. It took me almost a week to get it activated but once I did, I am so glad I did! I love it!

I always wanted a remote controlled airplane. I decide to go with one of the lower cost affordable ones that use a reinforced styrofoam for the wing material. I took it out on its maiden flight and it banked with a light wind and came crashing down into the ground never to fly again.

Let's see, impulse buys...I'm coming up blank. Haha! As an artist, funds are always tight and when I want something I wait months for the best deal and then only snag it if I have a coupon, too! Boring, I know.
I do pick up cheap trinkets and doodads from yard sales and thrift stores, with only a vague idea that I'll upcycle them in a creative way...doesn't always work out, but the successes pay for the mistakes!:)

My spontaneous drive/purchase: this morning, I decided to drive to Asheville, NC (about 1.5 hrs from where I live) just to go to Chocolate Fetish. I went to Chocolate Fetish, bought $30 worth of scrumptious chocolate, then turned around & drove the 1.5 hrs home.

I bought a blouse two weeks ago that was too much money and I have the receipt out and will be returning it this week. It looked way better in the store than it does on me standing in front of my own mirror.
I knew I would never wear them as they were 4 inch heels but they looks so nice and were by someone I admired that I purchased them. They are still in the box but I have them for the day that I will get the courage to wear them and not fall on my butt!

Spontaneous isn't me. Hmmm.... let me think. OK - I've got one! I won a $100 Ebay GC. I'm afraid of getting hooked on Ebay, so I don't like to buy anything there, but then I realized that my husband wasn't going to know what I bought, so I splurged and bought a bunch of video embroidery lessons from a woman whose yahoo group I was in. What a wonderful purchase! Right after that, she started having monthly lessons that use the videos I just "bought"! So now I can do all the lessons without having to buy them as I go!

I've had an inexpensive watch for years and when the battery needed replaced I went to get it replaced but saw a really nice watch at the store so I bought that and I love it.
